~ About Us ~

Welcome to the "town hall" in the center of the MPE community. We use this analogy to paint a picture of our structure. In tight knit communities there is often a "town hall" in the center of the village. All the businesses and towns' people contribute to a common fund that is used to hire a custodian for the care and upkeep of the facility. This facility is then available for everybody's benefit. The town's people use it for all their important functions and the local businesses use it to sell their wares. It is also the seat of government for the community, where important topics that effect the entire community are discussed and decided upon.

OpenMPE seeks to be the custodian for the MPE/iX Operating System that is at the center of the MPE community. To that end, OpenMPE Incorporated was formed as a entity co-operatively run by the users and vendors of MPE/iX and is in the process of seeking non-profit status.  The MPE town's people and businesses will provide funding and obtain control of OpenMPE by virtue of their User and Vendor Memberships. In turn, OpenMPE will use those funds, at the direction of its membership (the community) to provide the care and upkeep of the MPE/iX Operating system (and related software). That way it continues to be available to the town's people (companies using MPE/iX) for all their important functions and to the local businesses (vendors) for the selling of their software and services.
